Recently, top domestic auto racing events announced that starting from this season, all participating vehicles must be equipped with six point seat belts. This is the first time that this safety configuration has been fully promoted in domestic racing events. Compared with the five point style, the six point style seat belt adds a transverse abdominal strap, which can further limit body displacement during collisions and is suitable for high-intensity competitive scenes.
According to the person in charge of event safety, the six point seat belt adopts aviation grade webbing and locking mechanism, with an instant locking response time of less than 0.1 seconds. Multiple drivers have expressed that the new configuration significantly enhances driving safety, especially during high-speed cornering and emergency braking, with a more stable body fixation. The industry believes that event promotion will promote the extension of six point seat belt technology to the civilian modification field.
